Crean Lutheran High School Team Prepares to Serve

Blog post written by Jenni Ramsey

"But you ,O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand.   The victim commits himself to you.  You are the helper of the fatherless."  - Psalm 10:14

I can't believe that I get to travel back to El Salvador in less than two weeks with another wonderful team of volunteers!   Should I pinch myself?  This afternoon 11 of our 19 team members from Crean Lutheran High School, Irvine gathered to prepare for our week of service.  A family of 5 will be joining us from Chicago and Stephen Keenan, who served with our team last week, remained in El Salvador for the month of July (and will meet us at the airport when we arrive).  Lisa Yamashita is a Japanese exchange student who recently graduated from Crean.  She has returned home to Japan and will fly back to California just two days before our trip to serve alongside us.

Three of our team members (me, Stephen Keenan and Amanda Deal) have had the privilege of serving in El Salvador in the past.  However, most of these team members will be serving in a third world country for the first time.   Please pray for them as they prepare their hearts, say good bye to their families and leave the comforts of home.

Our team consists mainly of athletes and we will be serving through sports clinics as we visit orphanages throughout the week.  We are so honored to bring the hope of Jesus to the beautiful people of El Salvador.
